It can rain red!

Red rain, also called blood rain was a phenomenon seen on July 25, 2001 in the region of Kerala in southwestern India .

After analysis of the rain done by scientists, it was discovered that the color of the rain was not due particles which rose to clouds from earth. Indeed, colored rains are not rare events and are usually due to the presence of dust in the atmosphere.

After extensive research, scientists concluded that the color in rain was due to a strong presence of algal spores of lichens (pronounced Laiken – organism in symbiosis with a heterotrophic fungus and microscopic photobiont cells ) of the Trentepohlia type.
