Budgerigars belong to a species considered as one of the five bird species that can talk, alongside the African gray parrot, Amazon, Eclectus, and rose-ringed parakeet.
But Puck is the exception. Indeed this budgie holds the world record for the largest vocabulary ever uttered by any bird, counting more than 1728 words.
Rather than simply imitate, Puck created its own phrases and sentences. it often used words in appropriate situations and it showed an amazing understanding of its environment.
