25% of the members of a tribe in Zimbabwe are born with only two toes on each foot!

This is due to a genetic illness called ectrodactyly, which normally affects one person out of 90 000, However, even though this anomaly is very rare, it affects one quarter of the population of Vadoma; an African tribe located west of Zimbabwe.

This disease which is characterized by the presence of only two toes on each foot has spread excessively in this tribe because of consanguinity and the dominant trait of this anomaly (which necessarily gets passed on from a generation to another).
